Accurate, Maintenance-Free Flow Measurement for Conductive Liquids
The BWB Instruments Electromagnetic Flow Meter provides accurate, reliable volumetric flow measurement for conductive liquids with conductivity above 20 μS/cm. Built with no moving parts and minimal maintenance requirements, it delivers consistent long-term performance across a wide range of industrial process applications. Available in integral, remote, sanitary, and insertion configurations to suit your installation requirements.
Working Principle
The electromagnetic flow meter operates on Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic Induction. As a conductive fluid passes through a magnetic field, a voltage is induced across electrodes mounted on the pipe wall. This voltage is directly proportional to the fluid velocity, enabling accurate, real-time flow measurement with no moving parts and no pressure drop.
Benefits
- No moving parts, ensuring exceptional durability and virtually maintenance-free operation over the long term
- Factory pre-configured for quick plug-and-play commissioning, reducing site startup time
- Flexible installation with minimal straight run requirements — 10D upstream and 5D downstream — suitable for space-limited sites
- Supports multiple communication protocols including HART, MODBUS, RS485, and PROFIBUS for seamless integration into existing control systems
- Built-in self-diagnostics for proactive fault detection and minimal unplanned downtime
- Wet-calibrated with traceable certification for verified measurement accuracy
